As an Accountant / Financial Accountant (m/f/d), you will play a central role in our accounting function. You will independently manage our day-to-day operational accounting processes, actively support our HGB closings, and help us further develop our digital finance structures.
One of the highlights of the role: this is about much more than standard domestic accounting. You will gain hands-on exposure to interesting international topics, from cross-border EU transactions and reverse-charge procedures to upcoming EPR reporting requirements. This will allow you to build valuable expertise in international tax topics while actively helping shape our global finance processes.
Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the organization and management of incoming and outgoing invoices, as well as the review of credit card transactions and travel expenses. You ensure that all accounting documents and invoices are recorded completely and on time.
- You prepare payment runs and carry out regular account reconciliations and account clarifications.
- You handle preparatory accounting in close collaboration with our external tax advisors.
- You act as the key interface between Accounting and our operational teams, ensuring that accounting-related processes, such as invoice approvals and document submissions, are followed.
- You support internal month-end, half-year and year-end closings in accordance with HGB.
- You contribute to the design of digital workflows and the implementation of accounting and document management tools.
- You are responsible for the dunning process and for communication with suppliers and customers regarding accounting-related topics.
- You ensure that accounting documents are digitally stored and archived in a structured manner within our document management systems.
Requirements
- You have completed commercial or accounting-related vocational training, ideally as a tax clerk, financial accountant or in a comparable qualification.
- You have at least 2 years of relevant professional experience and have already built a solid foundation in accounting.
- Ideally, you have hands-on experience supporting physical inventory processes and the accounting valuation of inventory.
- You are confident using DATEV, for example DATEV Unternehmen online, as well as common MS Office applications, particularly Excel. Experience with tools such as Spendesk is a plus.
- You have a strong sense of ownership and a hands-on mentality.
- You are a strong communicator with a confident and professional manner, including when working with colleagues outside of Accounting. You are able to enforce deadlines and processes in a friendly but consistent way.
- You work in a structured and independent manner and have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Handling sensitive financial information with discretion comes naturally to you.
- You have very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken.
